The Sandoval family met us on Rio Grande Blvd near Flying Star. This is the perfect location for a mid-day family photo session! We always say the best light is the last 1.5 hours of the day but being parents ourselves, we know it can be more important to pick the optimal time for children. Some but not all children are at their best later on in the day. The golden hour, as amazing as it is, can not fix a meltdown! So a great alternative is shade and there’s no better shade than the giant cottonwood trees in that area. They’re beautiful, they’re a shield from the hot New Mexico sun, and photosynthesis! There aren’t any scientific studies that have linked photosynthesis to amazing family portraits but we’ve noticed a correlation.
